RADBE assists IC businesses receive over $1m in grant funding

One of the areas often overlooked by start-up companies when exploring funding opportunities is the area of government assistance. Grants of one form or another are available with different criteria at local, state and federal levels.

Grants can broadly be split into two categories – competitive and reimbursive. With competitive grants, applications are judged on merit and awarded by a committee. Reimbursive grants are paid after a process which usually involves an application and audit by a government department. Two of the most popular grants in this area are the Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) and the R&D Tax Concession.

Radbe Consulting, a visiting professional firm at the Innovation Centre, have been assisting clients at the centre for a number of years. The services provided include sitting with potential applicants and ensuring that they are eligible for the grant, assisting with the structuring of their financial affairs to ensure that expenditure is in the correct entity, completing the application and assisting with any queries that the government department may have.

Over the years, Radbe has successfully assisted Innovation Centre companies receive over $1 million in grant funding. James Colquhoun from Food Matters says “Radbe have shown us how to spend the money in the correct areas to get the best return from EMDG”.
