Advertising students pitch to IC companies

01-Dec-2011
Four Innovation Centre companies became real life clients for a class of USC Advertising Campaign students. Food Matters, Fumunda, Schoolzine and Auzion all took the opportunity to have the students present them with practical and creative ways to revamp their brand.

The students were required to develop advertising pitches over the duration of the semester, based on a brief their clients had provided them with.

Under the guidance of Rod McCulloch, Acting Head School of Communication, the 60 advertising campaign students presented their clients with new ideas of how to enhance their brand through website design, presentation folder layout, corporate identity and promotional material.

Each group had 30 minutes to present their ideas and impress their client.

James Turner of Fumunda Marine said he had been really impressed by the student’s creativity and the level of depth they had put in to the marketing tools presented to reach his target audience.

“Although they had an incredibly complex product and market to work with on Fumunda – the team delivered a really coherent, results driven series of ideas and strategies” James said.
